A Dogtooth violet on the soil of a deciduous forest in spring

Erythronium dens-canis, known also as Dogtooth Violet, is native from Eurasia, where it grows on the shady, wet soils of the deciduous forests. Each plant produces a pink, lilac or white flower which blooms on early spring. The leaves can be eaten as salad, but, also is cultivated as an ornamental plant on the flower gardens.
The picture was created using a Nikon D40X camera and Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D AF lens, with the following settings: focal length – 50 mm, exposure time – 1/400 sec, ISO – 200, lens aperture – F/3,5.
