Ornithogalum umbellatem, known as Star of Bethlehem, is native to Eurasia and North Africa, in present being found also in North America. It’s an attractive, but poisonous flower, specially its bulb. The toxicity is given by the content of cardiac glycosides and the calcium oxalate crystals.
The picture was taken using a Nikon D40X camera with Nikon 55-200mm VR AF-S f/4-5.6G ED lens and these settings: exposure time – 1/640 seconds, focal length – 190 mm, ISO – 200, F- number – 5,6.
