The landscape offered by the Retezat Mountains is perfected by the water presence. At the bottom of the glacial valleys, can be found numerous lakes with pure water, resulted from the snow melting and springs. It is so pure that can be drunk. The reflection of the sky or vegetation from vicinity, gives to the lakelet blue or green shades.
