The Purple dead nettle (Lamium purpureum) is a native plant from Europe; in present is spread in most of the temperate climate areas. Sometimes considered a weed, it is rich in vitamins, iron and fiber, and also, is an edible plant, often used in salads. The tea from the fresh whole plant is a tonic, but also has a laxative effect.
The image was taken using a Nikon D40X camera with Nikon 55-200mm VR AF-S f/4-5.6G ED lens and these settings: exposure time – 1/250 seconds, focal length – 86mm, ISO – 100, F- number – 4.5.
