Nimbostratus is a low and medium altitude category of cloud, which gives long-term precipitation as rain or snow. Often it has the appearance of a wide strip that is extended over several tens of kilometers. Usually it covers the entire sky, with an homogenous gray appearance. That’s why it is sometimes difficult to be distinguished, being confused with the sky’s color.
