The image of dried trunks in forest is normal for the firs, which are living in the middle of forest. Because of the poor lighting, these are evergreen only at the top, where the sun is shining. The older branches from the bottom are dry, and their only role remains to support each other when a strong wind blows. It may be o good survival method considering the fact that the fir roots are not very deep. Most humans survive, dry and finally die in a very similar way, isn’t it ?
The picture was made with a Nikon D40X camera and Nikon 55-200mm VR AF-S f/4-5.6G ED lens, using these settings: exposure time – 1/60 seconds, focal length – 55 mm, ISO – 800, F- number – 4.
