A Common Butterbur plant in water

The Common Butterbur (Petasites hybridus) is native to northern Asia and Europe. Grows near water and wetlands. In folk medicine is used mainly the root to prepare infusions and tinctures, used as treatment for headaches, stress, coughs, wounds, due to its anti-inflammatory, anti-spasmodic and diaphoretic properties. Also the leaves are used as an analgesic.
The image was made with a Nikon D40X camera and Nikon 55-200mm VR AF-S f/4-5.6G ED lens, using these settings: exposure time – 1/80 seconds, focal length – 62 mm, ISO – 800, F- number – 5.
