The apple branches, collected at St. Andrew (November 30), if are placed in a container with water, and are kept warm, will fully bloom until the New Year. In Romania, there is an ancient custom called sorcova, kept until present. Children visit the neighbors, in first days of the year, occasion which they touch the shoulders of their hosts, with blossomed branches, while wish a prosperous and abundant New Year.
