Mistletoe (Viscum album) is a hemi-parasitic plant, which grows on trees branches, with the appearance of shrubs. Being green all the year round, in winter it is more noticeable on the trees devoid of leaves. It is used in the folk medicine, but at the same time, it is very poisonous. The toxicity varies depending on the host tree. The most appropriate for therapeutic purposes is harvested from the apple tree, which is the least harmful and most rich in active principles. It is used mainly to treat hypertension.
