Scarce Swallowtail (Iphiclides podalirius) butterfly is widespread in Europe, India, the western part of China and Arabian peninsula. The existence of these butterflies is directly linked to the presence of blackthorn or hawthorn bushes. When these plants without economic value have been removed, this species began to disappear. Now, in some countries, it’s even protected by law.
