Shepherd’s purse is the popular name of Capsella bursa-pastoris. Originally from Eastern Europe and Asia, currently it is widespread in most of the temperate regions. It blooms from spring to late autumn. In medicine, the tea prepared from plant is known for its strong haemostatic properties. It may be used internal or external. Quickly stops all kind of bleeding. In the Second World War, the Germans have used it successfully when they remained without the other haemostatics.
