Cladonia Rangiferina, also called the reindeers lichen, is an important food source for the animals from the sub-polar and polar lands. Sometimes, it can be found on the branches of the trees. There, it can cause negative effects for the flora, suffocates the plants, and also provides a development environment for dangerous parasites.
This lichen is not Cladonia rangiferina, but it is a lichen of the genus Pseudevernia. Neither is Cladonia rangiferina found on trees nor do epiphytic lichens suffocate plantes or have negative effects on the flora! They are host of parasites, but this are only harmfull for the lichen hosts.
Aw, this was an exceptionally good post. Taking a few minutes and actual effort to make a great article… but what can I say… I put
things off a whole lot and don’t manage to get nearly anything done.
