Each cherry blossom, throughout its existence, produces between 0.4 to 1.5 milligrams of nectar. From a hectare of trees it can get a quantity between 20 and 40 kilograms of honey. For Japaneses, it is the symbol of spring, of the love and affection. It represents also the celebration, beauty, ephemeral human existence, the female sexuality. The Japanese pilots – kamikaze, during the Second World War, before the suicidal fight missions, have painted cherry flowers on the side of the plane.
The picture was captured with a Nikon D40X camera and Nikkor 50mm f/1.8D AF lens, using these settings: exposure time – 1/250 seconds, focal length – 50 mm, ISO – 200, F- number – 2,2.
