It’s a sunny summer afternoon. The irregular contours of the oak leaves, in the light that comes from front, are thus better highlighted. Leaves pierced by sun seem brighter, except for the regions where they overlap, and where, a clear-cut shadow is projected right on the bright surfaces. In distance, a dark unfocused forest is contrasting with the foreground.
