Star Moss (Tortula ruralis) is very resistant to drought. It survives even months, without water. Then, if is hydrated, just in a few hours it completely regenerates. Also sometimes is used for the decoration of the aquariums. But it is good to know that, without air, it can resist only about three months.
The image was created with a Nikon D40X camera and Nikkor 18-55mm f/3.5-5.6G ED AF-S DX lens, using these settings: focal length – 55 mm, exposure time – 1/160 sec, ISO 400, lens aperture – 5,6.
